I am a 29 year old Assistant Film Editor that has been living in White Plains, NY for going on 3 years now. I grew up in Georgia and then lived in Texas where I attended the University of North Texas. I am getting ready for my third season of Triathlons and I love them! I decided to join the ITP team for my friend, Jen, who was diagnosed with ITP 3 years ago. She really wanted to have children, but the doctors said it was too risky at the time. My first triathlon was the ITPMAN of 2007 and when I wanted to stop I would tell myself, "I'm doing this so Jen can have babies!"
Jen still has ITP, but is now showing improvements, and she had her first baby on November 3rd, 2008. I run for the ITP Foundation so that research and awareness can help lead to proper diagnosis, better treatment, and a cure for ITP. Next summer I plan to run the Timberman 70.3 and ITPMAN Triathlon.
