Ashford, CT - On April 18, 2008, families affected by ITP, and The ITP Foundation, attended the Chronic ITP Family Weekend at the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, in Ashford, Connecticut. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp is an award winning residential summer camp, and year-round center, for children with serious illnesses and conditions. The camp, in collaboration with its associated camps in the United States and abroad, provides such children an opportunity to experience camping of the highest quality.

Each year the camp is host to over 100 family members affected by such life threatening diseases as cancer and hemophilia. Deemed Family Weekends, these three-day affairs are designed to be both recreational and educational, and include various camping pastimes like arts & crafts, campfires, and fishing, as well as parent sessions.

The ITP Foundation was honored to be included in the weekend's program, and established a travel scholarship for those families in need of financial assistance in order attend. We were happy to assist all families who applied for the scholarship, and look forward to helping others in the future.
